Attend 25th AAAP Annual Meeting and Symposium!

Members of AAAP and its affiliated societies, students, faculty, health professionals, clinicians and researchers are all encouraged to participate in the AAAP Annual Meeting. Individuals who would like to submit a symposium proposal for the AAAP Annual Meeting should submit a completed proposal form by March 15, 2014 . (typically 2-3 presenters, and perhaps a discussant) Each plenary is scheduled for 2 hours with 30 minutes for each presenter and 30 minutes for discussion.
Note: There will be a designated session chair for each symposia that will be responsible for contacting the presenter(s) prior to the conference to discuss introductions, the content of the presentations and to review their materials (PowerPoint and handouts). At each session, the chair will ensure that the session begins and ends on time, introduces the presenter(s) and the session topic.
Evaluation of Proposals
Each proposal will be reviewed by a minimum of two reviewers who will recommend one of three options: 1) acceptance of the proposal, 2) revision of the proposal, or 3) rejection of the proposal. The reviewers will examine and evaluate proposals using the following criteria:
- A clear connection between the title of the session and its’ content (titles should be no more than 10 words, compelling to attract an interdisciplinary audience, and align with session content)
- Significance and clinical relevance of the topic for this conference
- Clarity and value of the objectives
- Mechanism for engaging the audience
- Defined learning outcomes for attendees
- Resolvable or manageable conflicts of interest
Acceptance of Proposals
The results of the review process will be provided to applicants no later than May 1st. The presenters of all accepted proposals are required to be confirmed with session chair no later than May 12th. Presenters are responsible for arranging and paying for their own conference registration fee, travel and lodging.
Note: All PowerPoint slides, outlines, and educational materials and for the presentation will be received no later than October 1, 2014. This will allow the Program Committee time to perform a thorough content review of all presentations. If materials are not received by this date, the educational quality of the presentation will be considered to be in jeopardy. As such, the symposium is subject to removal and an alternate presentation may be selected.
