Residents & Early Career Psychiatrists

Two
AAAP Research Awards are available annually and will be presented at
the 19th Annual Meeting and Symposium of the Academy, to be held
December 4-7, 2008, at the Boca Raton Resort & Club in
Boca Raton
,
Florida
. The awards will be presented based on the quality of original
addiction research conducted by the applicant and the demonstrated
commitment of the applicant to the field of addiction psychiatry. We
encourage women and minorities to submit their work. Travel and
lodging costs (up to $1,500) will be provided, and the meeting
registration fee will be waived. Award-winning research will
be presented during the Paper Session on Sunday,
December 7, 2008
.
Qualifications
The applicant must be one of the following and have completed the
bulk of his or her research during this time:
-
a
general psychiatry resident
-
a
PGY 5 or higher addiction psychiatry resident (fellow) in an
ACGME-accredited addiction psychiatry
subspecialty program
-
an
early career psychiatrist who has either completed a psychiatry
residency or completed an
ACGME-accredited addiction psychiatry
residency (fellowship) within 12 months of
October 1, 2006.
