AAAP,
ASAM, APA and AOAAM sent letters to Senators Hatch, Leahy, Gregg, and Kennedy
and Representatives Tauzin and Dingell expressing their concern that a provision
of the Drug Addiction Treatment Act of 2000 (DATA, Public Law 106-310) is having
the unintended effect of limiting access of patients to treatment of their
opiate dependence in office-based settings, and to ask for their assistance in
remedying the problem.
