Clinicians who are interested in obtaining their waiver to prescribe buprenorphine, one of three medications approved by the FDA for the treatment of opioid use disorder, may take the MAT waiver course through the Providers Clinical Support System (PCSS). PCSS provides the MAT waiver course at no cost in a variety of formats which fulfills the 8 hr requirement for physicians and the 24 hr requirement for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (NP/CNM/CNS/CRNA) and physician assistants. View PCSS’ MAT waiver offerings. If you would prefer to participate in an in-person MAT waiver training, please review the PCSS calendar for locations, dates and times. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
PCSS, a program funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), was created in response to the opioid overdose epidemic to train primary care providers in the evidence-based prevention and treatment of opioid use disorders and treatment of chronic pain.
