8 Hour and 24 Hour X-Waiver Training
Clinicians who are interested in obtaining their waiver to prescribe buprenorphine, one of three medications approved by the FDA for the treatment of opioid use disorder, may take the waiver course through the Providers Clinical Support System (PCSS). PCSS provides the waiver course at no cost in a variety of formats. View PCSS’ waiver offerings. If you would prefer to participate in an in-person or virtual waiver training, please review the PCSS calendar for locations, dates and times. Contact [email protected] with any questions.
PCSS, a program funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), was created in response to the opioid overdose epidemic to train primary care providers in the evidence-based prevention and treatment of opioid use disorders and treatment of chronic pain. Harvard Waiver Opportunity
Harvard has partnered with PCSS and SAMHSA to approve two of their OUD courses to count toward the 24 hour requirement (8 hours for each course).
