Job description: The Family Health Centers at NYU Langone (FHC) is seeking a Medical Director of Addiction Psychiatry to oversee a new Co-Occurring Disorder (COD) treatment program. As the largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in NYC, FHC operates a network of primary care and behavioral health clinics serving 140,054 patients. The FHC Behavioral Health program, based at 514 49th Street, Brooklyn, NY, performed 80,708 visits for 8,684 unique patients in the past year. A significant portion of patients in our catchment area experience co-occurring substance use and psychiatric disorders.
Job Responsibilities: The Medical Director position includes 50% administrative and 50% direct clinical care. Administrative responsibilities include development and oversight of the COD program, quality initiatives related to the COD program, management of COD clinical operations, regulatory compliance oversight, clinical supervision of COD counselors, COD nurses and COD psychiatric NPs and productivity management. Responsible for cultivating positive relationships with local residential and day treatment addiction programs, community-based organizations, local hospital and emergency departments. Including establishing tight integration of COD treatment between the Family Health Centers at NYU Langone and NYU Langone Hospital – Brooklyn. Stewardship and ongoing cultivation of a culture of respect and an outstanding patient experience are central to performance in this position. The successful candidate will also provide medical evaluation and treatment services, including providing all evidence-based treatments for opioid use disorders.
Required education/experience: Candidates should have fellowship training in Addiction Medicine/Addiction Psychiatry with previous clinical experience in providing medication-assisted treatment for people with opioid use disorders.
Required licenses/certifications: M.D. degree/completed an A.C.G.M.E. approved residency approved program in Psychiatry. Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry. Board Certified in Addiction Psychiatry or Addiction Medicine.
