Target Audience Statement
The field of Addiction Psychiatry changes frequently as new information becomes available. This course presents a broad-based general addictions overview and up-to-date information in the field of addiction psychiatry and is recommended for physicians, PAs and nurse practitioners, who wish to stay updated on the most recent trends in the addiction field. It is equally relevant to junior faculty and clinicians as well as experienced practitioners and are intended to help psychiatrists prepare for ABPN examination for subspecialty certification and recertification in Addiction Psychiatry.

Physician Designation Statement
American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry designates this Other activity (one portion of this course is an independent online activity and another portion of this course is a live face-to-face educational exchange on October 3, 2020 with a clinical expert responding to learner questions) for a maximum of 28 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Self-Assessment Credits for ABPN diplomates
If you are an ABPN Diplomate, you may claim Self-Assessment Credits for participating in this Course. The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology has approved AAAP’s Addictions and Their Treatment course for AAAP Members to receive up to 20 Self-Assessment Category 1 CME credits. The approval period is for December 31, 2021.
AAPA Credit Designation Statement
American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 28 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.
Nursing Designation Statement
American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry is an approved provider of nursing continuing education through AAAP’s Joint Accreditation provider #4008192. This activity is approved for up to 28 CEU hours.
Health Professionals Designation Statement
Participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance stating this program is designated for 28 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. This credit is accepted by the AANP and the AAPA.
