Managing Unhealthy Alcohol Use in Primary Care

AAAP is supporting the National Opinion Research Center (NORC) on an Agency for Health Research and Quality (AHRQ) grant. The project, titled Managing Unhealthy Alcohol Use in Primary Care, is focused on improving identification and increasing management of unhealthy alcohol use among adults in primary care practices. The goal is to help build and improve screening and brief intervening and medications for addiction treatment (MAT) services in primary care. Specifically, AAAP will 1) Assist with recruitment and engagement of Technical Expert Panel (TEP) members and facilitating TEP meetings; 2) Provide subject matter expertise to identify and share evidence-based resources on MAT as part of the environmental scan; 3) Assist with facilitating virtual learning community meetings with grantees, 4) Assist with developing a white paper reflecting activities conducted as part of the Resource Center and Evaluation; and 5) Provide guidance in the development of communications materials on MAT.
