Job description: VA Boston Healthcare System Department of Psychiatry is seeking full-time Addiction Psychiatrists to provide outpatient and/or residential care at our Brockton and Jamaica Plain campuses. VA Boston Healthcare System is a national research and development center for medical research and a referral hospital for the New England region. Academic affiliations include Harvard Medical School and Boston University Medical School.

The applicant will have a well-balanced mix of direct clinical care, teaching, and supervision of psychiatry residents & medical students. Appointment as Instructor, – or – Assistant or Associate Professor will be commensurate with experience, training, and achievements. This position offers a highly competitive VA salary, a generous leave and benefits package, as well as eligibility for up to $200,000 in Educational Debt Reduction and/or a $10,000 Recruitment/Relocation Incentive.

Job Responsibilities: Two positions are available at the Jamaica Plain campus and consist of a mixture of direct clinical care in residential/transitional care, outpatient substance abuse clinics, methadone clinic, teaching and supervision of trainees (including medical students, residents, and fellows), possible site directorship of addiction training for residents, possible administration and supervision of staff, and pursuit of academic interests, including research. An academic faculty appointment will be facilitated at Harvard Medical School and/or Boston University School of Medicine.

Required education/experience: Board Eligible in General Psychiatry and/or board certified in Addiction Psychiatry or Addiction Medicine; a commitment to serving Veterans; strong clinical, supervisory, and interpersonal skills, and a desire to work as part of an exceptional interprofessional team. The successful candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
