Help Build the Next Model of Addiction Care
Aureum Health is building a neuroscience-first, longitudinal model of substance use disorder treatment designed around the understanding that addiction is a chronic disorder involving the brain’s reward, learning, motivation, stress, and decision-making systems.
Aureum Health is seeking an exceptional Addiction Psychiatrist to help build a neuroscience-first model of substance use disorder treatment.
Aureum Health is a new, physician-led behavioral health organization based in Connecticut designed around a simple premise:
Substance use disorder is a chronic disorder of the brain—and treatment should be designed accordingly.
We are building a longitudinal model of care that integrates addiction medicine, psychiatry, psychotherapy, behavioral neuroscience, recovery support, measurement, and sustained human connection over the course of recovery.
Physicians joining Aureum Health will have the opportunity to help shape the clinical model from its earliest stages and participate in building a scalable, evidence-driven approach to long-term substance use disorder treatment.
Aureum Health is headquartered in North Haven, Connecticut, within the greater New Haven healthcare and academic ecosystem.
Full-time, part-time, and potentially hybrid arrangements may be considered for the right physicians.
Job Responsibilities:
The physician will have the opportunity to participate in:
- Direct patient care
- Clinical program development
- Integration of contemporary addiction neuroscience into treatment
- Measurement and outcomes development
- Development of clinical protocols and care pathways
- Collaboration with leading researchers and academic institutions
- Creation of a scalable, evidence-driven model for long-term SUD treatment
- Willingness to write off-label for GLP-1 receptor agonists where clinically appropriate
Aureum Health is located in North Haven, Connecticut, minutes from New Haven and the Yale West Haven VA medical community.
Full-time, part-time, and potentially hybrid arrangements may be considered for the right physician.
Board certification or fellowship training in Addiction Psychiatry is strongly preferred.

Required education/experience:
Board certification or fellowship training in Addiction Psychiatry is strongly preferred.
Required licenses/certifications:
- MD or DO degree
- Active, unrestricted physician license in Connecticut, or eligibility to obtain Connecticut licensure
- Current DEA registration, or eligibility to obtain one
- Board certification or board eligibility in Psychiatry
