A Fellow is chosen for their burgeoning contribution to the field of Addiction Psychiatry and engagement with AAAP.
The criteria to be considered a Fellow includes:
- An AAAP Member for at least 2 consecutive years after certification.
- Certified in Psychiatry by ABPN.
- Attended 2 or more AAAP annual meetings in the last five years.
- Engagement with AAAP (at least 2 of the following):
- Participated as an active member or served as chair or co-chair of an AAAP committee, SIG, or editor of AJA or the AAAP newsletter.
- Authored at least 1 publication in the AJA OR at least one article in the AAAP Newsletter.
- Co-editor of AAAP Newsletter, or role as an Area Director or co-Director.
- Acted as peer reviewer for AJA for at least two articles.
- Presented for at least one AAAP meeting (i.e., Annual Meetings and Preconference Workshops- posters, workshops, symposia).
- Participate in the AAAP mentorship program (as an active mentee or mentor).
- Recipient of an AAAP award, including Travel, Education, Research, Founders’, Outstanding Service and Achievement, or Early Career.
- Provided clinical contributions through AAAP grants or educational initiatives, such as course director, developing a PIP, Visiting Scholar, ORN consultant or physician champion, PCSS mentor or self-assessment questions.
- Submit one letter of endorsement from a member of AAAP.
You may use this honorary title throughout your continued membership with the AAAP.
