Dr. Lyness is Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry. Before assuming his current position at the ABPN in 2023, he served as Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and was Professor of Psychiatry and of Neurology at Rochester. He formerly served in the Department of Psychiatry as Associate Chair for Education and Director of the Geriatric Psychiatry Program, and for the School as Director of (medical student) Curriculum and as Medical Director for Continuing Medical Education.
Dr. Lyness is certified by the ABPN in Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry and participates in continuing certification.
