SAMHSA Expands Access to Buprenorphine for Opioid Dependence

UPDATED July 8, 2016 // As part of a strategy to combat the US opioid epidemic, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) finalized a rule this week to increase access to buprenorphine in order to allow a greater number of individuals to be treated for opioid addiction ― a move addiction medicine specialists believe is long overdue.
