AAAP’s CME mission is to advance the competence of physicians, enhance their practice performance and promote patient safety enabling them to offer the highest standards of care to patients who have substance abuse disorders and related conditions. When possible, improved patient outcomes in the population served by the providers educated will be documented and analyzed.

PCSS is a program funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) created in response to the opioid overdose epidemic to train primary care providers in the evidence-based prevention and treatment of opioid use disorders and treatment of chronic pain.
