Job description: ECU Health Physicians and The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at East Carolina University’s Brody School of Medicine, are seeking a BE/BC Adult Psychiatrists with a primary clinical focus on addiction medicine to join their expanding behavioral health practice located in Greenville, North Carolina. New graduates and Visa candidates are welcome to apply.
The new ECU Health Behavioral Health Hospital, a 144-bed behavioral health facility, opened December of 2025.

- Academic appointment with the Department of Behavioral Health and Psychiatry at East Carolina University’s Brody School of Medicine
- Opportunity to work with an expanding, multi-disciplinary, and collegial department
- Inpatient and outpatient clinical responsibilities
- Monday-Friday 8am – 5pm schedule
- Resident first line call, phone only
- Academic responsibilities will include supervision of addiction and psychiatry residents as well as teaching of medical students
- Referral network includes 29 county service area with a population of 1.4 million people
- Coming in 2028-new Medical Office Building with over 50,000 sq ft. to include a dedicated addiction space

Required education/experience:
- MD or equivalent degree from an appropriately accredited institution.
- Completion of an accredited psychiatry residency training program or of an approved combined medicine-psychiatry or family medicine-psychiatry residency training program
Required licenses/certifications:
- Candidate must be board eligible/certified in Addiction specialty (psychiatry or medicine)
- Candidate must be eligible for medical licensure in the State of North Carolina, have a current state and federal prescriptive authority as well as a valid DATA 2000 waiver to prescribe buprenorphine products for the treatment of addiction.
- Candidates must be eligible for clinical privileges at ECU Health Medical Center
