The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration is announcing a virtual webinar for prospective applicants interested in applying for Fiscal Year 2026 Cooperative Agreement for Assisted Outpatient Treatment Program (NOFO# SM-26-001).
The webinar will provide an overview of the NOFO and application requirements. The webinar will be led by SAMHSA’s Center for Mental Health Services staff.
The purpose of this program is to facilitate the implementation of AOT for adults with serious mental illness. Recipients are expected to implement the AOT program, working with civil courts, community partners, and other entities to support community-based treatment for adults with SMI who meet criteria for AOT.
With this program, SAMHSA aims to reduce the incidence and/or the duration of psychiatric hospitalization, homelessness, incarcerations, and interaction with the criminal justice system while improving the health and social outcomes of individuals with SMI.
