Job description: Central California Faculty Medical Group (CCFMG) is seeking candidates for full or part-time positions in Addiction Psychiatry. You will perform psychiatric evaluations for a diverse population who have substance use and co-occurring psychiatric disorders. This role provides a full range of therapeutic interventions including diagnostic assessment, medication evaluation and management, suicide risk assessments, crisis intervention, and overall care of patients with substance use and psychiatric disorders. Additionally, coordinate and conduct consultations and referrals for patients with substance use disorders and provides education and training in the Psychiatry department.

For candidates who would be interested in a core faculty position, Community Regional Medical Center and the Fresno County Department of Behavioral Health are the main training sites for the UCSF Fresno Psychiatry Residency Program, along with numerous other specialties. Faculty appointment with UCSF will be commensurate with the candidate’s skills and experience. With a faculty appointment, supervision and teaching of both medical students and residents will be expected.

The program is based in Fresno, California, a city that combines a high standard of living with a low cost of living. Fresno is uniquely placed within a short drive of both San Francisco (just 3 hours away) and Los Angeles (just 3 ½ hours away), making it easy to enjoy the art, food, and nightlife that both cities have to offer.

Required education/experience:
MD or DO

Required licenses/certifications:

  • BC Psychiatry and BE/BC Addiction Psychiatry
  • California medical license or be eligible to obtain by the date of hire
