Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship Director

Job description: Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine seeks a dynamic, creative, and collaborative medical education and clinical leader for Director of our ACGME-approved Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship.

Based on qualifications of the candidate, the Fellowship Director role will be considered for other major clinical, research and/or administrative leadership opportunities in Addiction Psychiatry at our medical center.

The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is a national leader in public and community psychiatry, integrated behavioral health, and addiction clinical care and research. Departmental faculty include past and current presidents of national organizations including the APA and ABCT. In recent years the department has experienced tremendous growth in its clinical, research, and educational programs with the visionary support of Montefiore Einstein leadership.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee one year Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship curriculum (didactic, clinical rotations and scholarly projects).
  • Work with the Associate Program Director and Program Administrator, other faculty, and departmental leadership to chart a course for the future of fellowship training in Addiction Psychiatry at our medical center.
  • Lead recruitment of competitive fellowship candidates/future leaders in Addiction Psychiatry
    Ensure compliance with ACGME training regulations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues at national and local organizations.

Required education/experience:

  • MD or DO
  • Demonstrated interest and experience in medical education
  • Educational administrative leadership experience desirable

Required licenses/certifications:

  • Board Certification in Psychiatry
  • Board Certification in Addiction Psychiatry
  • New York State Medical License (or licensure eligible)
